I also wonder that. Moreover magento is now acquired by Adobe and now it is Adobe Commerce. Currently it is Open Source but I am pretty sure, Adobe will do something to it to make it proprietary and will make it a part of its cloud suite i.e monthly rental basis. To me, WordPress is far more better choice. Previously my favourite was Joomla but almost every theme for Joomla is based on some proprietary framework and every framework has flaws. So it is kinda messed up.
